Wat Dap Phai were originally called  Wat ArePhai or Wat Tung Kra Dang.

 

A legend says that. When Paya Arephai get sick and cannot treatment So he prayed with Dap Phai Buddha. And then he get better immediately. Paya Arepai  the forgiveness of his family settled the area. And renovated. Call the new name Wat Dap Phai.

 

Wat Dap Phai is measured with traditional Lanna architecture. The property has a pond in front of the temple. Believed. When King is of Chiang Mai . return from Bangkok. He must visit to this temple for keep water in the pond to pour holy water before visit to Wat Chiang Yean for Echiyongin fortune.
