Wat Ban Mai Attractions in Mae Hong Son Mae Khatuan, Sop Moei, Mae Hong Son. The temple is affiliated with the Maha Nikaya sect. It was officially established as a temple in 1931 (B.E. 2474) and was granted wisungkhamsima status (a consecrated boundary for ordination) in 1995 (B.E. 2538). The abbot of Wat Ban Mai is Phra Prasit Tapasilo.
The temple's boundaries are as follows: to the north, it borders the Muang Canal; to the south, it borders a school; to the east, it borders a forest; and to the west, it borders a public road.
Wat Ban Mai was built in 1931 (B.E. 2474). The temple's name, "Ban Mai," originates from the accounts of the village elders. The village was burned down by Burmese soldiers during the Thai-Burmese wars, leading to its name, which translates to "Burned Village."
