Wat Chom Thong Attractions in Mae Hong Son Mae Sariang, Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son. The temple, affiliated with the Maha Nikaya sect, covers an area of 85 rai and 3 ngan. It is located approximately 2 kilometers east of Mae Sariang Market.
On the mountaintop, there are two chedis. Doi Chom Thong also features a cave that, in the past, was believed to contain treasures such as bowls, jars, drums, and other ancient artifacts, guarded by a deity.
At some point in history, the entrance to the cave was sealed by a stone, though no one knows exactly when this occurred. Doi Chom Thong is home to a diverse variety of plant species. Historically, the area was called "Muang Yom," and the Burmese referred to it as "Mailongyi," meaning "the city of great mineral stones."
