Wat Chai Lap Attractions in Mae Hong Son Ban Kat, Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son. The temple, originally known as Wat Panad, is located within a boundary defined as follows: to the north, it is adjacent to private land; to the south, it is also adjacent to private land; to the east, it is bordered by a commercial street; and to the west, it is adjacent to private land and Wat Chai Lap. The temple occupies an area of 5 rai and 15 square wah.
 
Affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect, the temple was founded in 2428 BE (1885 CE), with Phra Bhikkhu Jai Santikaro serving as its first abbot. It was granted the Wisungkhamsima (the boundary for sacred ordination ceremonies) on April 23, 2529 BE (1986 CE), covering an area of 40 meters in width and 80 meters in length.
 
The administration and governance of the temple are currently under the leadership of Phra Khru Anuwat Sasanakit (Phra Somchai Tantachitto). Over time, the abbots of the temple have been: Phra Bhikkhu Jai Santikaro (2428–2447 BE), Phra Kamnoi Charuwanno (2448–2450 BE), Phra Pang Sujitto (2451–2462 BE), Phra Kaew Chandiko (2463–2467 BE), Phra Athikarn Tip Apivongso (2468–2506 BE), Phra Maha Kaew Panyavaro (2507–2511 BE), and Phra Khru Anuwat Sasanakit, who has served since 2512 BE.
