Wat Ban Mai Attractions in Mae Hong Son Pang Mu, Muang Mae Hong Son, Mae Hong Son. Wat Ban Mai belongs to the Dhammayut Order and occupies an area of 24 rai (approximately 9.5 acres) under Nor Sor 3 Kor land title.
The temple's boundaries are as follows: to the north, it is bordered by forest; to the south, by Ban Mai Village, Moo 5; to the east, by forest; and to the west, by a public road.
The temple structures include a wooden ordination hall, 12 kutis (monks' residences), a garage, a kitchen, a meditation hall, 20 restrooms, and a library.
The temple also operates a broadcasting station, "Dhamma Voice for the People," on FM 90.4 MHz, airing daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Wat Ban Mai was established in 1970 (BE 2513). According to the historical record, the founder was Mr. Santi Maneekarn, who served as the district chief of Mueang Mae Hong Son at the time. Mr. Nu Kamfong, a former village head of Ban Mai, donated the land for the temple’s construction.
Currently, the temple is under the leadership of Phra Khru Panya Silawat, who has served as abbot since 1999 (BE 2542).
