Wat Pong Kham Located at No. 9, Ban Mai Phatthana, Village No. 4, Nam Kian Subdistrict, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province, the temple belongs to the Mahanikaya sect of the Buddhist monastic order. The temple grounds cover an area of 18 rai, 3 ngan, and 60 square wah. To the north, the boundary extends approximately 6 sen and borders a rural road (R.P.C.). To the south, it stretches approximately 6 sen and borders private land. To the east, it runs about 3 sen and 3 wa, also bordering private land. To the west, it extends another 3 sen and 3 wa, again adjoining private land.
The monastic buildings include monks’ residences. Sacred objects housed within the temple include the principal Buddha image and other Buddha statues. The temple was founded in 1887 (B.E. 2430) and was granted the Wisungkhamasima, the official consecrated boundary for ordinations, in 1892 (B.E. 2435), with the boundary measuring 40 meters in width and 42 meters in length.
Regarding its administration and leadership, known abbots include Khruba Kaowichai, Phra Thananchai, Phra Namwong, Phra Boonrat, Phra Athikan Intawong Intawongso, Phra Athikan Sombun Suntharo, Phra Athikan Sanit Khemacharo, Phra Inhwan Passanno, and Phra Inphong Sirimongkolo. The temple has provided religious education through its Pariyatti Dhamma School since 1987 (B.E. 2530).
