Wat Ban Lang Nong Ya Sai, Nong Ya Sai, Suphan Buri. Wat Ban Lang was originally named Wat Ban Lang Thong. Later, when the government began registering rural temples, the name was shortened to Wat Ban Lang for simplicity.

The temple was established in Ban Pa Rang, Nong Ya Sai Subdistrict, Nong Ya Sai District, Suphan Buri Province, in the year of the Pig, 1923 CE (B.E. 2466). It received its royal decree for Wisungkhamsima (a consecrated boundary for ordination halls) on December 1, 1994 (B.E. 2537), and the ordination boundary was formally established on December 27, 1997 (B.E. 2540). The temple occupies approximately 160 rai (about 64 acres).

The inspiration for the temple’s construction originated from a sacred event. A rectangular laterite slab was found emerging from a large termite mound in the forested area. At the time, the forest was abundant with wildlife, attracting hunters. One hunter, while chasing a rabbit, noticed it escape to the termite mound.

The hunter was unable to shoot the rabbit, and over time, villagers observed that animals often gathered near the mound. Eventually, they discovered the laterite slab partially buried within the mound. Believing it to be sacred, villagers began worshiping the slab and making vows, many of which they claimed were fulfilled. This led the community to unite and construct a temple at this revered site.
