Wat Ban Mai Cho Lae, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai. It is believed that worshiping the Buddha image at this temple can help alleviate one's suffering and misfortunes that may occur. By making merit here, devotees seek to rid themselves of adversities and bring about peace of mind.

Wat Ban Mai affiliated with the Mahanikaya Buddhist sect, occupies a total area of 4 rai and 74 square wah. Its prominent location is surrounded by roads on three sides, with residential homes to the west, making it a central hub that connects the community together.

Established in 1861 (B.E. 2404), the temple originally sat on forested, uncultivated land and was initially named "Wat Nong Din Chi." The foundation of the temple was led by Mr. Wang Chumphu, a devout local, who, together with the residents of Ban Mai Village, cleared the land to create a resting place for monks. Later, the temple was renamed "Ban Mai Temple" after the village's name. In 1897 (B.E. 2440), it was officially recognized as a temple.

Wat Ban Mai is not just a place for religious activities but also serves as a cultural and social hub for the community. Villagers gather here for merit-making ceremonies and cultural events. The temple also plays a vital role in preserving local traditions, such as hosting festivals on significant Buddhist occasions.

As the heart of Ban Mai Village, the temple fosters moral and ethical values while promoting unity among the villagers. The local community continues to actively care for and develop the temple, ensuring it remains a thriving center of religious and cultural significance.

Wat Ban Mai stands as a testament to the history and faith of the local community. Its continued role as a communal center strengthens the bond between people and their local culture, ensuring that this heritage is preserved for future generations.
