Huay Had Waterfall, located in Moo 2, Ban Yod, Tambon Yod, Song Khwae District, Nan Province, is a medium-sized waterfall renowned for its tranquil beauty. Surrounded by pristine forest and rich vegetation, the area exudes a peaceful atmosphere with lush greenery throughout the year. During the rainy season through early winter, the waterfall becomes especially vibrant, with a strong, cool flow that offers a refreshing escape for nature lovers seeking to get away from the chaos of urban life.

The waterfall features three tiers, each cascading gracefully over rocky cliffs. The first tier is the largest, standing approximately 35 meters tall and 15 meters wide. At its base is a natural pool with crystal-clear water, about 1 to 1.5 meters deep, making it ideal for safe swimming. The surrounding environment is filled with the sounds of chirping birds, flowing water, and the earthy scent of the forest an invigorating blend for weary travelers.

To reach Huay Had Waterfall, travelers can begin from Nan town by taking Highway 1080 toward Tha Wang Pha District. Then turn left onto Highway 1148 and continue through Song Khwae District until reaching kilometer marker 47. From there, turn right toward Ban Yod and drive approximately 3.7 kilometers. The final 700 meters must be completed on foot via a shaded forest trail that is not too steep and is guided by the unmistakable sound of the waterfall.

Near the waterfall is Ban Yod, a small and welcoming village. Visitors can opt for a homestay experience amidst nature by the stream, where simplicity meets deep charm. The local villagers continue to live self-sufficiently, practicing traditional farming and weaving. Tourists can immerse themselves in the local way of life trying their hand at weaving, exploring organic gardens, and enjoying delicious local dishes made from fresh, local ingredients.

Although Huay Had Waterfall is not yet a nationally renowned destination, its quiet charm, natural beauty, and peaceful setting make it a hidden gem. It is perfect for those seeking solitude in the forest, the soothing sound of cascading water, and the gentle embrace of nature in every step. For anyone captivated by the raw beauty of the natural world, Huay Had Waterfall is a destination in Nan Province that should not be missed.
