Wat Yukhon Rat Samakkhi (also spelled Wat Yukol Rat Samakkhi) is a Buddhist temple located in Ban Nong Fafaet, Village No. 4, Koh Loi Subdistrict, Phan Thong District, Chonburi Province. It serves as a spiritual and cultural center for the local community, playing a vital role in religious activities and community development. On July 10, 1947, the temple received official permission for construction, marking the beginning of its development as a center for Buddhist practice in the area. Later, on February 22, 1960 (B.E. 2503), Wat Yukhon Rat Samakkhi was granted Visungkhamsima, which is the consecrated boundary of the ordination hall (ubosot), a highly significant designation in Buddhism. This boundary allows the temple to perform important ceremonies, particularly monk ordinations. The granted area measures 40 meters wide and 80 meters long. Being awarded Visungkhamsima was a moment of great honor for the temple, symbolizing growth and the enduring strength of Buddhism in the region.

 

Today, the temple covers a total area of 27 rai, 2 ngan, and 30 square wah, with an additional 20 rai designated as thordeesong land (temple property) that holds legal land title deeds. This secure foundation ensures the temple’s sustainable growth and organized management.

Traditional ceremonies like the Kathin robe offering, Pha Pa ceremonies, and other local merit-making activities are regularly held, preserving cultural heritage while promoting spiritual well-being.

 

Currently, the temple is led by Phra Kru Wisut Kittjanurak, who serves as the abbot and also holds the position of advisor to the chief monk of Phan Thong District. His leadership is instrumental in guiding the temple’s development, from managing religious affairs to enhancing its role as a center for education and community engagement. Under his guidance, Wat Yukhon Rat Samakkhi has become a place where Buddhism and local culture are actively preserved and passed on to future generations.
