The casting ceremony for the statue took place on April 18, 1960, and it was officially enshrined in its current location on October 22, 1961. The name “Phra Phuttha Sihing Ming Mongkol Sirinat Phutthaborisat Rat Kuson Samakkhi Poochaniyapitak” was graciously bestowed upon the statue by Somdet Phra Sangharaja Kittisophon Maha Thera of Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok.
