Wat Phlaeng Phai, also known as Wat Phlaeng Phai Vipassana Ram, is located in Tambon Lat Krating, Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet, Chachoengsao Province. This Buddhist temple is affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect and occupies an area of approximately 19 rai, 2 ngan, and 38 square wah. Wat Phlaeng Phai serves as a significant religious center in the region and plays a crucial role in strengthening the community through educational and religious activities.
 
Wat Phlaeng Phai was established on January 9, 1984, by Mr. Win Tumprasert, who donated the land for its construction. The temple was granted ecclesiastical boundaries (visukhamasima) on June 30, 1995. The area of the ecclesiastical boundary measures 17.5 meters in width and 37.5 meters in length. The temple opened its Buddhist studies school, Phra Piriya Dharma School, in 1987 to support education and religious training.
 
Currently, Phra Mahawattachai Watthanachayo, Ph.D. 3, serves as the abbot of the temple, managing and overseeing the temple’s operations efficiently.
 
Buildings and Structures
Ubosot (Ordination Hall): The ubosot is a reinforced concrete building, 17.5 meters wide and 38 meters long, constructed in 1987. The roof is a two-tiered design with double layers and covered with tiles. The roof decorations feature golden deer motifs. The front gable displays the symbol of the Unalome, while the rear gable features a depiction of Phra Ta Maha Phrom, surrounded by intricate designs. Inside the ubosot, the main Buddha statue is Phra Maha Muni. There are also five golden teak Buddha statues, each containing relics of the Buddha brought from Myanmar.
 
Salar Kram Piang (Pavilion Hall): A reinforced concrete building, 22 meters wide and 30 meters long, built in 1995.
 
Prayer Hall: A reinforced concrete building, 10 meters wide and 18 meters long, constructed in 1982.
 
Monk’s Quarters and Merit-Making Hall: These include residential buildings for monks and a hall for merit-making activities.
 
Wat Phlaeng Phai plays a vital role in enhancing community strength through its religious and educational activities. The temple’s structures not only serve as religious centers but also reflect the commitment to the development of Buddhist practices and community support. Wat Phlaeng Phai is thus an important place for promoting and preserving Buddhism in Chachoengsao Province.
