Wat Pha Pu Attractions in Mae Hong Son Pha Pong, Muang Mae Hong Son, Mae Hong Son. Wat Pa Pu, affiliated with the Maha Nikaya sect, occupies a plot of land measuring 5 rai, 2 ngan, and 70 square wah. The temple was originally established around 1733 (B.E. 2276) under the name "Wat Pa Tung."

Wat Pa Pu is set within an expansive area adorned with lush greenery, large trees, manicured lawns, and flower gardens, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere for visitors. The temple's ubosot (ordination hall), viharn (assembly hall), and pagoda are exquisitely crafted in the Shan architectural style. The Buddha images at the temple reflect a unique blend of Burmese and Shan artistry, creating a distinctive aesthetic rarely found outside Mae Hong Son Province.

The architectural style of Wat Pa Pu prominently showcases Shan influences. This is evident in the intricate pan soi patterns adorning the roofs of the temple buildings and the ordination hall. The Buddha images within the temple exhibit a harmonious combination of Shan and Burmese styles. Overall, Wat Pa Pu is not only visually striking but also serves as a central hub for Buddhist worshippers seeking to engage in meditation and spiritual practice. Phra Phuemphon Thanissaro has served as the abbot of Wat Pa Pu since 2002 (B.E. 2545).
