Wat Mae Raeng is located in Mae Rang Subdistrict, Pa Sang District. It is affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect of Buddhism and occupies an area of 5 rai and 22 square wah. The temple structures include an ordination hall (ubosot), a viharn, a sermon hall, and monks' quarters. The sacred objects at the temple consist of a Buddha image, a scripture hall (ho trai), and a chedi. The temple was built in 1697.

Originally abandoned, the temple was later restored by the village headman, Muen Kham, along with local villagers. They invited Phra Khruba Panya to preside over the reconstruction of the temple. The temple was granted a royal charter for the ordination hall (Wisungkhama Sima) on October 14, 1982.
