Wat Nong Samanatada is located at 95, Moo 2, Ban Nong Sommana, Nakhon Chedi Subdistrict, Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province. The temple belongs to the Mahanikaya Sangha sect. The land on which the temple stands spans 3 rai and 1 ngan, registered under Sor Kor 1, Plot No. 4.
 
The northern boundary measures approximately 80 meters (2 sen and 8 wa) and is adjacent to private land. The southern boundary measures approximately 92 meters (2 sen and 12 wa), also adjacent to private land. To the east, the boundary is approximately 64 meters (1 sen and 8 wa) and borders Wat Nong Samanatada School. To the west, the boundary measures approximately 56 meters (1 sen and 5 wa), again adjacent to private land.
 
The temple complex includes a vihara (sanctuary), an ubosot (ordination hall), additional vihara buildings, and monks' quarters.
 
Wat Nong Samanatada was established in 1557 AD (BE 2100). According to its history, the temple was initially named Wat Nong Samanatada. It was granted the royal boundary demarcation (Visungkhama Sima) in 1577 AD (BE 2120).
 
The temple has been administered by several abbots over time. The known abbots include Phra Athikan Kham-ai (1940 - 1950), Phra Athikan Kham Chandasilo (1950 - 1959), Phra Athikan Mool Theerapanyo (1959 - 1969), Phra Athikan Saon Mahaviro (1969 - 1974), Phra Athikan Phon (1974 - 1977), Phra Maha Chaleum (1977 - 1979), Phra Athikan Intha Thawornthammo (1979 - 1987), and Phra Khru Wirun Suddhakan, who has served since 1987.
