Khao Khong Chai Cave is located in Lamsak Subdistrict, Uthai Thani Province, Thailand. This mountain rises approximately 353 meters above sea level and is distinguished by a shallow, wide cave resembling a large tunnel. Archaeological evidence suggests that prehistoric humans once inhabited the area, as stone tools and fragments of pottery have been discovered. The cave is also home to a large colony of bats, which can be observed flying out to forage for hours in the evening, offering visitors a captivating natural spectacle.

For those adventurous enough to climb the steep cliff, there are several other caves at the top, including Thong Chai Cave, Maha Sombat Cave, Ped Cave, and Lom Cave. Nearby, another mountain features more beautiful caves. The central valley area is expansive and hosts both a temple and Lamsak Wittaya School, providing a harmonious blend of natural beauty and community development.

Travelers can reach Khao Khong Chai Cave from Mueang Uthai Thani by taking Highway 333 through Nong Chang District, then continuing on Highway 3438, the Nong Chang–Lamsak route. Approximately 2 kilometers before reaching Lamsak District, turn left into Lamsak Wittaya School and continue for another 500 meters to arrive at Khao Khong Chai, about 52.4 kilometers from the city center.

Nearby, Huay Rabam Forest Park is located in Rabam Subdistrict, approximately 78 kilometers from the provincial town. Covering an area of 11,740 rai, the forest park is a plantation managed by Thai Plywood Company, featuring teak, eucalyptus, and decorative pine trees. Visitors can explore newly planted forest areas, and overnight accommodations are available for up to 30 people, though guests must bring their own supplies. Water is scarce during the dry season, and access can be difficult in the rainy season.

To reach Huay Rabam Forest Park, take Highway 3438 to kilometer marker 46, then turn left and drive approximately 16 kilometers. For more information, contact Thai Plywood Company at 0 5651 1094 or the Provincial Forestry Office at 0 5651 1009.

Khao Khong Chai Cave and Huay Rabam Forest Park offer unique experiences for nature enthusiasts, history buffs, and adventure seekers. The diverse caves and bat colonies within Khao Khong Chai create an awe-inspiring atmosphere, while Huay Rabam Forest Park provides opportunities to learn about forestry practices and resource management in a serene natural setting. Both destinations are ideal for escaping urban life and immersing oneself in the natural beauty of Uthai Thani Province.

Visitors should prepare appropriate equipment, such as flashlights, hiking shoes, and suitable clothing for climbing, as some areas may be steep or slippery. Observing the bat colony in the evening is a memorable experience, as the bats emerge and fly for extended periods, highlighting the marvels of nature.

For outdoor enthusiasts, climbing Khao Khong Chai and exploring its caves offers both a challenge and a rewarding experience, including panoramic views of the surrounding valley, the temple, and Lamsak Wittaya School.

Beyond its natural beauty, Khao Khong Chai Cave holds historical and archaeological significance.
