Wat Chi Pa Khao Phra Ngam, Phrom Buri, Sing Buri. Wat Chi Pa Khao was originally an ancient temple and is believed to have been constructed during the Ayutthaya period. Later, during the reign of King Rama I of the Rattanakosin era, Princess Srisudarak (Kaeo), the elder sister of King Rama I, undertook the restoration and renovation of the temple.

Over time, river erosion affected the area in front of the ordination hall. During the reign of King Rama IV, he ordered Chao Phraya Khun Montri to oversee the reconstruction of the ordination hall, relocating it further inland from its original location. The boundaries of the new ordination hall were officially marked, replacing the original monastic boundary, with dimensions of 15 wa in length and 7 wa in width (approximately 30 x 14 meters). Embankments were also constructed along the front of the temple to prevent further erosion, successfully preserving the site.

After all restoration efforts were completed, King Rama IV renamed the temple Wat Si Sudaram and elevated it to the status of a third-class royal temple (Worawihan). This was done in honor of Princess Srisudarak, the grandmother of King Rama IV. The establishment of the temple under its new name was officially marked on Monday, the first day of the waxing moon in the 12th month, in the Year of the Rabbit (Nopasok), BE 2410 (1867 CE), during the final years of King Rama IV's reign. Evidence of the original ordination hall, now a vihara, can still be seen in front of the current ordination hall.

Getting There From Bangkok, take Highway No. 1 and turn onto Road No. 32 (Asia Highway). Pass through Ayutthaya and Ang Thong provinces until you are about to enter Sing Buri Province (around kilometer marker 119). Turn left and cross the bridge over the Chao Phraya River near Wat Chaiyo Worawihan (Wat Luang Pho To Maha Phuttha Phim).

From there, turn right and follow the road along the irrigation canal (Chai Nat-Ang Thong route) for 2 kilometers. Wat Chi Pa Khao will be on your right-hand side.
