Wat Prasat It is believed that Wat Prasat was constructed after the historic elephant battle during the Ayutthaya period. Soldiers who had participated in the national liberation effort wanted to dedicate a Buddha image to honor the king they deeply revered and respected. This led to the creation of two Buddha images, Luang Pho Dam (The Black Buddha) and Luang Pho Khao (The White Buddha), which are uniquely found in this temple.
These two Buddha images are often referred to as Ong Dam (The Black Image) and Ong Khao (The White Image). Based on the layout and architectural features, including the ordination hall (ubosot), it is assumed that the temple was built in the early Ayutthaya period, as indicated by the artistic style of the structures.
Getting There From Bangkok, take Highway No. 1 and turn onto Road No. 32 (Asia Highway). Pass through Ayutthaya and Ang Thong provinces until you are about to enter Sing Buri Province (around kilometer marker 119). Turn left and cross the bridge over the Chao Phraya River near Wat Chaiyo Worawihan (Wat Luang Pho To Maha Phuttha Phim).
From there, turn right and follow the road along the irrigation canal (Chai Nat-Ang Thong route) for another 6 kilometers. At the intersection near the Kratum Phrong Bridge, turn right and continue for about 1.5 kilometers. Wat Prasat will be on your right-hand side.
