Wat Charoenwararam Khlong Dan, Bang Bo, Samut Prakan. This temple is not only a place for religious ceremonies but also a cultural hub for the Khlong Dan community. With its rich history and distinctive architecture, Wat Charoen Wararam plays a vital role in the lives of local residents.

Historical Background Wat Charoen Wararam was established around 1841 by Chao Chom Manda Chum (Mom Noi), a member of the royal family who was deeply devoted to Buddhism. Initially, the temple was known as "Wat Noi" due to its small size. In 1962, the temple was officially granted the status of a consecrated boundary (Wisungkhama Sima), and the ordination boundary was formally consecrated in 1966.

Architecture and Structures The temple features a restored ordination hall measuring 6 meters wide and 12 meters long, which underwent renovations in 1966. A distinctive Ayutthaya-style chedi (stupa) and 15 monk’s residences, mostly two-story buildings combining wood and concrete, are also located within the temple grounds.

The principal Buddha image in the ordination hall serves as a focal point of worship for the local community. Other revered sacred objects include a replica of Luang Pho Sothon, with a lap width of 24 inches, and a replica of Luang Pho Phan, with a lap width of 32 inches.

Wat Charoen Wararam has been a center for Buddhist education since 1957, offering scriptural studies for monks and novices. It also plays a significant role in preserving local traditions and hosting various religious and cultural activities for the community.

Wat Charoen Wararam is more than a place for religious practices—it is a vital cultural and spiritual hub for the Khlong Dan community. With its rich history and the active participation of locals, the temple continues to symbolize unity and faith passed down through generations.
