Wat Khlong Khu

Wat Khlong Khu, located in Tha Luang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phichit Province, is a temple renowned for its sacredness and the faith of the local people, particularly regarding the revered Takian tree spirit, or “Chao Mae Takian.” The temple recently unearthed the sacred Takian tree from a pond in Wang Chik Subdistrict, Pho Prathap Chang District, Phichit Province. The story of this Takian tree has attracted locals and lottery enthusiasts from across the region, who come to pay respects continuously.

 

The origin of the Takian tree at Wat Khlong Khu began with a dream experienced by the abbot, in which the tree spirit appeared and asked to be brought out of the water, where it had been submerged for a long time. Following this divine instruction, the temple excavated the tree and relocated it to Wat Khlong Khu in Tha Luang Subdistrict for the public to worship. The Takian tree measures approximately 37 meters (9 wa 2 sok) in length and 2.85 meters in diameter, making it an exceptionally large specimen. During spiritual rituals conducted by the temple committee, it was revealed that this tree is Chao Mae Angkhana, which had been submerged for over 200 years.

 

As news of the sacred Takian tree spread, both locals and visitors began arriving in large numbers. The temple grounds became crowded with people offering prayers, seeking blessings, and asking for luck, especially around lottery draw dates. Many visitors photograph the tree with their mobile phones to analyze potential lucky numbers, while some sprinkle flour around the tree to reveal numeric patterns, hoping to receive guidance from the spirit.

 

The spiritual trance rituals at the temple are a highlight that draws significant attention. During these rituals, Chao Mae Angkhana manifests and provides lucky numbers to worshippers. The faith in these numbers is so strong that lottery tickets associated with the tree often sell out immediately after being revealed, making Wat Khlong Khu a major destination for lottery seekers from near and far.
