Darul Abideen Mosque (Surao Daeng) is located in Tha Sai Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. It is an important Islamic religious site that has served as the spiritual and cultural center of the local Muslim community for more than a century.

 

The origin of this mosque is closely tied to the early settlement of Muslim families in the area. The first pioneers were Haji Yuso and To Kodiyah, who migrated to this region to clear land and cultivate rice fields. In the early days, they did not settle permanently, but traveled back and forth between Tha It and the farming area depending on the agricultural seasons.

 

As the community gradually grew, a mosque was built to serve as a place of worship and a gathering point for religious activities. The son of the founding family later became the imam, reflecting the continuation of faith and leadership across generations.

 

Over time, the first mosque structure deteriorated due to age. The community then constructed a second building with a zinc roof, which was more suitable for that period. Eventually, as the community became more established, a third mosque was built on the same site using teak wood, known for its durability and traditional architectural value.

 

The current mosque was completed in 1933 (B.E. 2476) and has been well maintained ever since. Today, it stands not only as a place of worship but also as a historical landmark representing the long-standing Muslim presence in Nonthaburi.

 

At present, the mosque is under the care of Imam Ajyi Abdul Kohhar Manaswakul, who oversees religious activities and maintains the continuity of Islamic traditions within the community.
