Wat Lai Museum Khao Samo Khon Subdistrict, Tha Wung District, Lopburi Province Wat Lai is considered to be an ancient temple from the beginning of Ayutthaya. The location of Wat Lai is next to the Bang Kham River. This is a river that can travel to various ancient cities. Therefore, temples and communities in this area are related to various ancient cities in the river basin in the central region. The Wat Lai Museum is a large 2-story building. It began with the collection of antiquities of the abbot of Wat Lai from 1929 - 1944, then Phrakhru Sathitbunyaphisant, the abbot of Wat Lai (1978 - 1987) therefore began to build this museum building. and bring items to display Exhibits within the museum include:
The upper floor has displays related to Buddhism, including a cabinet of Phra Dhamma Lai Rotnam, a Khoi book, ancient Buddha images both metal and carved stone, brass instruments such as a large sacred water bowl, Thai musical instruments from Wat Lai that were initiated by Phrakhru Su. The ground floor has various antiques on display, divided into categories such as ceremonial conch shells, golden trees, antique coin cabinets, silverware, opium smoking pipes, antique lamps, a large set of pearl-inlaid furniture tables, and on the walls there are photographs of His Majesty's handiwork. King Chulalongkorn When His Majesty visited Wat Lai which is a picture of villagers who came to welcome His Majesty and a picture of the bamboo bridge in front of the temple next to the Bang Kham River.
In the middle of the room there is a display of pottery from various periods, porcelain from Chiang Mai kilns, colored painted plates, a cabinet of Phra Chulai or the gold head covering of the Phra Sri Ariya Maitri Buddha, a cabinet of painted Benjarong tiles, a cabinet displaying porcelain tiles. And the porcelain doll has a real mustache. and lacquered and gilded lacquerware cabinets, lighters, etc.
To get there, take National Highway No. 311 (Lopburi - Singburi) and turn onto Highway No. 3028 at the red light intersection (km. 18) for another distance of approximately 6 kilometers. There are many bus lines passing by. It is the Lopburi - Tha Khlong line. Khok Samrong-Ban Mi line and the Singburi-Ban Mi line.
