At the area of the head office of the Huai Mak Liem Watershed Management Unit Doi Hang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province Which has been approved to use the said area from the Royal Forest Department on May 10, 2002.
 
The area of the Nam Kok National Park is approximately 458,110 rai or 732.98 square kilometers. Covering the 4 districts of Chiang Rai Province, including Pa Tua Subdistrict, Mae Chan Sub-district, Mae Chan District, Tha Sud Sub-district, Nang Lae Sub-district, Mae Yao Subdistrict, Doi Hang District, Ban Du Subdistrict, Mae Kon Subdistrict, Mueang District, Wawee Subdistrict, Mae Suai District and Mae Suai Subdistrict Pong Phrae, Dong Mada Subdistrict, Chom Mokkaew Sub-district, Mae Lao District.

The topographical features of the Kok River National Park are steep and interspersed with narrow plains. The valley area is a small patch. The northern and southern parts of the area are high and low, with the middle being a basin that is alternated with hills. With an altitude between 500-1,720 meters above sea level.
 
With the top of Doi Chang being the highest mountain Which is approximately 1,720 meters above sea level Important mountains in the area are Doi Yao, Doi Bo, Doi Chang, Doi Pha Moob, etc. There is the Kok River, which is an important river of the upper northern region flowing through the central lowlands of the area.
 
The upstream originated from Burma, flowing through Thailand at Tha Ton Subdistrict, Mae Ai District, Chiang Rai Province.
