Wat Klang Rajakru Tharam is located at 32 Ban Hua Tapian, Moo 4, Tambon Hua Tapian, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province. It is affiliated with the Maha Nikaya Buddhist order and holds significant religious and cultural importance for the local community.
Wat Klang Rajakru Tharam was established in 1857 (B.E. 2400) and is situated between Wat Hua Tapian and Wat Lin Thong, which is why it is commonly referred to as "Wat Klang" (Middle Temple). Previously, there was a deserted temple called Wat Ta Kru nearby. The merging of names led to the new name "Wat Klang Rajakru," and later, the suffix "Tharam" was added, resulting in its current name. The temple received royal permission for the consecration of its boundary in 1918 (B.E. 2461).
Architecture and Key Features Wat Klang Rajakru Tharam features several important structures, including: Ubosot (Ordination Hall): This is a crucial place for religious ceremonies, housing the principal Buddha statue in a meditation posture, which was constructed in 1964 (B.E. 2507). Sala Kha Priang (Meeting Hall): This hall contains a statue of Phra Buddha Chinnarat adorned in ceremonial attire, serving as the principal image for the hall.
Prayer Hall: Used for chanting and other religious activities. Monk's Quarters: Accommodations for the resident monks. Vihara Luang Por Khao: This vihara houses the revered Luang Por Khao Buddha statue in the Mara Victory posture, which is an ancient and significant image for the locals.
