Wat Khu is the name of an abandoned temple currently located in Moo 3, Muang Tia Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province. The temple features the architectural style of a ubosot (ordination hall) with a large seated Buddha image in meditation position at its center. Surrounding this central figure are four Buddha images carved from red stone.
The ubosot is adorned with a large tamarind tree over a century old, standing 5.70 meters wide. The power and virtue attributed to Wat Khu, particularly in the name of Phra Phutthachao Chetu, have drawn respect and reverence from both nearby and distant devotees. Many believe in the sacredness of this site, coming to worship and pray for blessings, health, relief from suffering, exemption from conscription, and good fortune.
Visitors often pay respects by gilding the Buddha images, making offerings, and hanging decorative items such as gold leaf, colored fabric, and garlands around the statue of Phra Phutthachao.
The temple commemorates the annual "Gilding Ceremony" on the 10th and 11th waxing moon days of the 11th lunar month each year. Over time, the area surrounding Wat Khu has become beautiful and clean, exuding a sense of dignity that prompts passersby to bow their heads or honk their horns in respect, invoking the blessings of Phra Phutthachao Chetu for protection.
Wat Khu is situated in Moo 3, Ban Saladin, Muang Tia Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province, making it accessible for those wishing to visit this sacred and historically significant site.
