Wat Talad Mai is located at 53 Ban Talad Mai, Moo 1, Talad Mai Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province. It is affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect of Buddhism. The temple complex consists of several buildings, including an ubosot (ordination hall), a sermon hall, a prayer hall, monk residences, and a multipurpose hall.

The ubosot houses the principal Buddha image in the Maravijaya posture, created in 1972 (B.E. 2515). Additionally, the sermon hall features a Buddha image in the Phra Buddha Chinnarat posture, constructed in 1995 (B.E. 2538). Other notable relics include a statue of the former abbot, Phra Khun Kham Anthavanno, made in 1953 (B.E. 2496).

Wat Talad Mai was established in 1667 (B.E. 2210) during the reign of King Narai the Great, the 28th monarch of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Over time, the temple fell into disrepair, with only a mound of earth marking the site of the ubosot, which locals referred to as "Wat Bots Ban Kradeung."

In the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of the Chakri dynasty, the community began to develop new homes and a market near the temple, leading to the name "Ban Talad Mai." The locals joined forces to restore and renovate the temple, ultimately renaming it Wat Talad Mai. The temple was granted a royal religious boundary on November 10, 1972 (B.E. 2515).

Wat Talad Mai is a significant historical and cultural site in Ang Thong, reflecting the rich heritage of the area. With its beautiful architecture and the dedication of the local community, the temple serves as a spiritual center and a reminder of the region's history.
