Thung Nang Kruan Waterfall is a large waterfall that remains remarkably pristine, located in Thung Nang Kruan Village, Chalae Subdistrict, within Srinakarin Dam National Park, Kanchanaburi Province. This area is considered one of the natural attractions that has not yet been heavily affected by commercial development, clearly reflecting the rich and unspoiled character of Thailand’s western forest region.
The main highlight of Thung Nang Kruan Waterfall is its natural limestone formation. The waterfall consists of seven tiers, each featuring tall cascading cliffs arranged in descending levels. Some tiers rise higher than 35 meters. Water flows over the limestone formations throughout the year, creating light-colored mineral deposits and distinctive rock textures. The surrounding area is densely covered with large trees, providing shade and maintaining a cool, humid environment year-round.
Getting There is an essential part of the experience. From Kanchanaburi town, take Highway 323 (Thong Pha Phum–Sangkhla Buri). At kilometer marker 26, turn right at the junction marked by a white Buddha statue. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers along a road that alternates between paved asphalt and compacted dirt. Upon reaching Thung Nang Kruan Village, there is a further 3-kilometer access road to the waterfall trailhead, followed by a 1-kilometer walk on foot, which takes around 30 minutes.
