This temple is under the Mana Nikaya. The entire area of the temple is 5 rai 1 ngan. Wat Mongkol Wanaram was built in 1858 by Phra Decha and the villagers.
It was called Wat Pa Aram Ban Rai, then changed to Wat Pa Dad. It was officially appointed to be Buddhist sanctuary under the King's grant on November 23, 1983.
