Bua Tong Field at Doi Mae Ho is located in Mae Ho Subdistrict, Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province, along Highway 108, one of the most scenic routes connecting Mae Sariang to Hot District in Chiang Mai. The site lies approximately 16 kilometers from Mae Sariang town and is considered one of the most accessible golden flower fields in northern Thailand.

 

This destination is known for its vast fields of blooming Mexican sunflowers, locally called “Bua Tong,” which cover the hillsides in vibrant yellow during November and December. Unlike more famous locations, this area offers a quieter and more natural atmosphere, making it ideal for travelers seeking peaceful scenery and authentic local experiences.

 

The area is managed by the Hill Tribe Development and Welfare Center of Mae Hong Son Province, which plays a role in preserving the environment and supporting local communities. As a result, the landscape remains largely untouched and retains its ecological balance.

 

Getting There is straightforward. From Mae Sariang town, take Highway 108 toward Hot District for about 16 kilometers. The flower fields are located right along the roadside, making it convenient for visitors to stop and explore without long hikes.
