Wat Phra That Chom Mon is a significant hilltop temple in Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son. It is one of the four sacred stupas protecting the town and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Yuam River.

 

The temple dates back to the Lanna Kingdom around the 14th century. It was commissioned by King Saen Mueang Ma, with Prince Saen Kham as the builder. The site also contains relics of important historical figures, making it both a spiritual and historical landmark.

 

Throughout history, the temple has been restored multiple times by diverse ethnic communities including Thai, Shan, Mon, and Karen people. This reflects the cultural richness and unity of the region.

 

Today, the temple is a peaceful destination for both spiritual practice and sightseeing. Visitors often come to enjoy sunrise and sunset views from the hilltop.
