Bueng Boraphet Aquarium is one of the most important educational attractions in Nakhon Sawan Province. Located within the Bueng Boraphet wetland area, it offers visitors a chance to explore Thailand’s freshwater ecosystem through an immersive indoor experience. The building itself is designed in the shape of a traditional cargo boat once used along the Chao Phraya River, adding cultural identity to the attraction.

 

The aquarium showcases more than 100 species of freshwater fish, reflecting the biodiversity of Bueng Boraphet, the largest freshwater lake in Thailand. Visitors can observe rare and native species in well-designed tanks that replicate natural habitats, making it both educational and visually engaging.

 

The main highlight is the 24-meter fish tunnel, where visitors walk through a transparent passage surrounded by large aquatic life. Species such as giant freshwater stingrays, Mekong giant catfish and other local fish swim above and around, creating a unique underwater experience without diving.

 

In addition, there are over 30 display tanks featuring various freshwater and ornamental fish, including archerfish, giant gourami and Thai carp species. Each tank is carefully arranged to provide insight into the behavior and ecosystem of the species.

 

The Touch Pool zone allows visitors to interact with certain marine creatures such as bamboo sharks and sea urchins, offering a hands-on learning experience. This area is especially popular with children and families.

 

Getting There is convenient, as the aquarium is located about 6 km from Nakhon Sawan city center. Travelers can follow the route toward Bueng Boraphet. It is easily accessible by private car and can be combined with nearby attractions such as Bueng Boraphet, bird watching areas and Pasan.
