Nam Phong Reservoir is an important reservoir in Santisuk District, Nan Province. Built to block the Nam Phong stream, the reservoir was created to provide water storage for local agricultural communities. Today, it is also known for its mountain scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and natural landscape surrounded by green hills.

 

The reservoir is located in Ban Si Na Man, Santisuk District, Nan Province, along the Santisuk–Lak Lai route, approximately 3 km from the district center. It plays a vital role in supporting local agriculture and serves as a water source for communities in the surrounding area.

 

Construction of Nam Phong Reservoir began in 1977 and was officially opened in 1981 by His Majesty the King. The reservoir became an important development project for Santisuk District, improving irrigation systems, water management, and the livelihoods of local residents.

 

One of the most attractive features of Nam Phong Reservoir is the surrounding mountain landscape. Although the reservoir still maintains a quiet local atmosphere, it has become increasingly popular among nature lovers and photographers who enjoy peaceful mountain scenery. Cool breezes and the calm waters make it an ideal place for relaxation, especially during the late afternoon.

 

Getting There is convenient via the Santisuk–Lak Lai Road. From Santisuk District center, drive approximately 3 km toward Ban Si Na Man to reach the reservoir. The road is mostly paved and suitable for private cars, rental vehicles, and motorcycles.

 

Travelers can also combine the trip with nearby attractions in Santisuk District and Nan Province, including Wat Don Mongkhon, Doi Samer Dao, Si Nan National Park, and scenic mountain routes leading toward Mae Charim District.
