Pha Chana Dai is one of the most famous sunrise points in Thailand. It is used as a reference point for calculating sunrise time in the country and is widely known as a place to see the first light of Thailand. The viewpoint offers a dramatic morning atmosphere with mist, pine forest, layered mountains, and the first sunlight appearing over the horizon. Access to this zone is managed for safety, and visitors must follow the schedule and instructions set by park officials.

 

Wat Phu Anon adds a cultural dimension to the Pha Taem route. Located north of Ban Sa Som, the temple area contains natural rock terraces, a large footprint-like mark, natural stone basins, and rock-art features. Traveling from Khong Chiam town to Pha Taem is straightforward by private vehicle. Take Highway 2134 and continue onto Highway 2112. At around kilometer 8, turn toward Pha Taem for about 5 kilometers. The total distance from Khong Chiam is about 18 kilometers. From Ubon Ratchathani city, the total distance is about 95 kilometers. The route is paved and accessible by car, but public transport directly into the park is limited, so a private car, rental car, or hired vehicle with a driver is the most convenient option.

 

The park has visitor facilities that support both day trips and overnight stays. These include a visitor center, accommodation, camping grounds, youth camp buildings, toilets, showers, a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and activity areas. The accommodation zones include houses near the main park gate, houses around the camping area, youth camp zones, and facilities near the visitor center. Pha Taem is also registered as a dark-sky park, making it suitable for stargazing, meteor shower observation, and Milky Way photography when the weather is clear.

 

The entrance fee follows the national park fee group applied to Pha Taem. Thai adults pay 40 baht and Thai children 20 baht. Foreign adults pay 200 baht and foreign children 100 baht. Vehicle fees are charged separately, such as 20 baht for a motorcycle and 30 baht for a four-wheel car. Visitors should keep the ticket with them while traveling inside the park, as several attractions are located in separate zones.
