Rama IX Museum is located within the National Science Museum complex in Khlong Ha, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. It serves as a major learning center that presents the philosophy, working principles, and scientific problem-solving approaches of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The museum emphasizes understanding the relationship between the Earth, ecosystems, and humanity to promote sustainable living.

 

The museum is designed as an advanced educational space combining science, technology, and royal wisdom. It showcases how King Rama IX applied scientific thinking to address national challenges such as water management, soil rehabilitation, and forest conservation, becoming a global model for sustainable development.

 

The exhibition is divided into three main zones. The first zone, “Our Home,” explores the origins of the universe, starting from the Big Bang, leading to the formation of the solar system and Earth. It includes immersive displays such as tectonic movement simulations, Earth's rotation, and the global water cycle.

 

The Life section highlights the evolution of living organisms from single-celled life forms to complex organisms, emphasizing genetic transmission through DNA. The Evolution and Mass Extinction area presents prehistoric creatures and major extinction events that shaped biodiversity.

 

The Human Odyssey zone focuses on human evolution, illustrating how humans have adapted and interacted with the environment over time.

 

The second zone, “Our Life,” features global ecosystems such as Antarctica, Arctic, Tundra, Taiga, Desert, Temperate, and Tropical regions. It provides insight into climate diversity, species adaptation, and environmental balance.

 

The final zone, “Our King,” highlights King Rama IX’s scientific thinking, methodologies, and development strategies, demonstrating how sustainability requires harmony between humans and nature.

 

The museum uses modern interactive technology, making learning engaging and suitable for visitors of all ages, including families, students, and international travelers interested in science and sustainability.

 

Getting There The museum can be reached from Bangkok via Phahonyothin Road toward Rangsit, continuing to Khlong Luang and Khlong Ha. It is located inside the National Science Museum complex with ample parking. Public transportation is available to Khlong Luang, followed by local transport to the museum.
