During the late Ayutthaya period, around the late 22nd Buddhist century, Wat Tanu Song Tham underwent restoration and expansion. Additional subsidiary chedis were constructed, along with a surrounding boundary wall enclosing the ordination hall and the principal chedi. These additions reflect the prosperity of the local community at the time, as well as evolving artistic styles that became more refined and elaborate.

The registered area covers approximately 1 rai, 1 ngan, and 83 square wah. This legal protection helps prevent encroachment and inappropriate development that could undermine the site’s historical value.

Getting There The site can be reached via Highway No. 32. Upon entering Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, the entrance to the temple can be found on the right-hand side of the road.
