Wat Naksamoson (Boran Ya Bamrung) is located in Village No. 2, Phai Phra Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It is an ancient temple with roots dating back to the late Ayutthaya period. For generations, the temple has served as a religious and spiritual center for the Phai Phra community, functioning both as a place for Buddhist ceremonies and as a focal point of local faith.

 

The history of Wat Naksamoson reflects the settlement patterns of communities in the Bang Sai river basin in the past. The temple has played a vital role in shaping local ways of life, beliefs, and social unity. Beyond being a religious site, it preserves the collective memory of the community through merit-making activities, traditional ceremonies, and the transmission of faith from one generation to the next.

 

At present, Wat Naksamoson has four resident monks and is led by Phra Khru Sangkharak Bang Jaruwanno as the current abbot. The temple continues to function as a true community monastery, with regular religious activities and an open environment that welcomes local residents to make merit, practice the Dhamma, and participate in everyday religious life.

 

The sacred figure at the heart of local devotion is Luang Pho Kesorn (Luang Pho Phom), who is deeply revered by villagers and believed to provide spiritual protection for the community. As a result, Wat Naksamoson is a place where devotees frequently come to pay respect, make wishes, and perform merit-making with sincere intention. This long-standing belief reinforces the temple’s continuing importance in both religious and cultural dimensions of the Phai Phra community.

 

The atmosphere within the temple is calm and simple, making it suitable for worship, quiet reflection, and unhurried visits. Visitors can walk around the temple grounds, observe traditional community-style architecture, and experience the slower pace of life surrounding the temple, which contrasts with the major tourist sites in Ayutthaya city.

 

Regarding traditions, Wat Naksamoson continues to host Buddhist activities on important holy days such as Makha Bucha Day, Visakha Bucha Day, Asalha Bucha Day, and during the Buddhist Lent period. Kathin and Pha Pa merit-making ceremonies are also held according to the temple’s annual schedule. These events allow villagers to come together to make merit, strengthen community bonds, and preserve religious traditions in Phai Phra Subdistrict.

 

Getting There Wat Naksamoson can be reached via the Pathum Thani – Sena Road. Turn left at the Phai Phra Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) office and continue for approximately 2 kilometers to reach the temple. Traveling by private car is convenient and suitable for visitors interested in spiritual and cultural travel in the Bang Sai area.
