Pha Wing Chu Located at Ban Dong Dam, Hod District, Chiang Mai Province. Access to the Chiang Mai-Hod route. When arrived to Hod then go straight to the Hod-Nalung.

Which will pass through the Ban Dong Dam When passing Ban Hod Luang about 3 km, there will be a junction to left. Cross the bridge pass Ban Dong Dam around 1 Km.

There will be a left junction directly into the scenic cliff. Or take the route Hod - Doi Tao line 1103 out of Hod to about fifteen kilometers. At 53 km, there is a small junction at the right for 3 km, then turn right into the gravel road running for about 1 km.

To the viewpoint of the cliff. This side is on the ridge of a cliff. Which will see the beautiful stone. But if you want to see the cliff side. Which the line sliding of cliff. Use the Hod-Nalung route. When you arrive a Hod Loung, and then turn left to the small way there are many. Try to take the path to the Ping River to reach the cliff.

The nature of the source Cliff is a steep cliff. When facing the direction of water flow. Or to the south will be on the left of the Ping River. The cliff is 250 meters long and 25 meters high, sloping down in the west.

The right is flat. The scenic spot and famous tourist spot is on the cliff. When viewed from the viewpoint. It is seen as a monolithic pyramid standing upright from the ground. Some of the pillars have a strange shape on the top. Behind the area is a flat area on the banks of the Ping River and see the mountains of Doi Pui Luang.

The geology The landscape  is characterized by the landform. (Geomorphology) Formed by the decay process in place (Weathering) Erosion and lifting of normal faults. By sliding in the east-west line. Sloping tilt to the north. Rock on the north side of the fault are slide down.

While the rock mass on the south side of the slope Until the Terrace Erosion on the coast, making the cliff with a steep cliff. While across the cliff is plain. The rocks consist of cliffs composed of Siltstone, Sandstone and Conglomerate.

Lower rock has better sediment coordination. Stone Age Terraces (65-1.8 million years old) and Quaternary (1.8 million years - present). The placement of two layers of rocks is discontinuous.

So we can assumed that, when the old stone age has accumulated. Later changed the tectonic structure. The rock layer tilts the erosion and finally collapses. Then younger rock formation layers on older than another again.

It consists of a layer of rock that is not hardened with hardened parts. But the texture of the stone is not well coordinated. In combination with the high ground. So naturally, by the rain, the water has eroded, leaving the sediment to fall apart. Especially front of the cliffs.

This is clearly from the comparison of the position of the fence. From the original fence created. With a new fence at the scenic spot.

The newly constructed fence had to recede from the cliffs, because the rocks at the cliffs collapsed. Break down all the time. So any planning to develop the area should have a A Study on Terms of cliff erosion each year. To calculate that the building should be built on a cliff, How near or far?
