From Koh Tao, ferry services also connect to Koh Phangan. Getting around Koh Phangan can be done by shared songthaew, taxi, rental car, rental motorbike and hotel transfer. Many main roads are now easier than in the past, but some routes to eastern beaches, viewpoints and waterfalls remain steep, curving or demanding. Visitors who are not experienced riding motorbikes on steep island roads should not force themselves to rent one. A car with driver or hotel transfer is often safer for routes to Thong Nai Pan, Than Sadet and hill viewpoints.
