Koh Larn is a charming small island located just 7 kilometers off the coast of Pattaya. Despite its compact size of only about 4 square kilometers, it offers stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a wide variety of activities, making it one of the most popular destinations among both Thai and international travelers. The island combines lively beaches full of visitors with quiet spots ideal for relaxation.

 

Getting There Traveling to Koh Larn is very convenient. From South Pattaya, ferries depart daily from Bali Hai Pier. The route Pattaya–Koh Larn (Na Baan Pier) takes about 45 minutes and costs only 30 THB per person. Ferry schedules run throughout the day, with departures at 07:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00, and 18:30. Return trips from Koh Larn to Pattaya start as early as 06:30 and run until 18:00.

 

Another option is the Pattaya–Tawaen Beach ferry, which takes passengers directly to the most popular beach. It departs in the morning with return trips in the afternoon.

 

For those who prefer speed and privacy, speedboats are available. The ride takes only 15 minutes, with a rental fee of about 3,000 THB per boat. The route can be customized to stop at multiple beaches or circle the island, making it perfect for travelers with limited time.

 

Beaches and Activities The first beach many people think of is Tawaen Beach, the busiest and most popular on the island. Here you’ll find plenty of water activities such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boats, and snorkeling for beginners.

 

Thong Lang Beach and Nual Beach are more laid-back options, great for coral reef viewing and relaxing away from the crowds. Tien Beach is ideal for lounging, while Samae Beach is the quietest on the island—perfect for travelers seeking peace and solitude.

For day-trippers, a morning ferry to Tawaen Beach for water activities, followed by a peaceful afternoon at Samae Beach before catching an evening ferry back to Pattaya, is a popular plan. If you have more time, staying overnight allows you to experience Koh Larn’s magic from sunrise to sunset.
