Getting There is most convenient by private car. From Ban Rai District, take Highway 3011 on the Ban Rai – Phu Bon route. Continue past the Chao Pho Khao Rak shrine curve until reaching the junction signposted for Ban I Lum – Ban Khao Phu Toei. Turn right and continue for about 6 km, then pass the entrance to Wat Tham Khao Wong for about 3 km to reach the entrance to Tham Phu Wai. The route includes some winding mountain sections, so careful driving is recommended, especially during rain or when the road surface is wet.

 

Visitors should prepare properly before entering Tham Phu Wai. Good walking shoes are recommended because cave floors may be damp, uneven, or slippery.
