Ban Thap Boek is a highland Hmong village located in Wang Ban Subdistrict, Lom Kao District, Phetchabun Province. It is the highest village in Phetchabun and one of Thailand’s most famous destinations for sea of mist views and cool mountain weather.

 

This destination is well known for its breathtaking landscape, including rolling mountains, cabbage plantations, and mist-covered valleys. Visitors can experience fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and scenic views throughout the year.

 

The village sits at approximately 1,700 meters above sea level, making it one of the coolest places in central Thailand. Nights can be very cold, especially during winter, while daytime temperatures remain comfortably cool year-round.

 

One of the most iconic features of Ban Thap Boek is its cabbage fields. During the rainy season, the hills are covered with lush green cabbage plantations, creating a stunning visual landscape that attracts photographers and nature lovers.

 

The sea of mist is another highlight. Early mornings offer the best opportunity to see thick layers of mist floating above the valleys, forming a magical atmosphere that draws tourists from across the country.

 

Visitors can also observe the traditional lifestyle of the Hmong community, who continue to practice agriculture and live in harmony with nature. The village offers a peaceful retreat from busy city life.

 

Getting There requires driving approximately 25 km from Lom Kao District. The road is steep and winding, so a strong vehicle or 4WD is recommended, especially during the rainy season.
