Wat Phra Non Bang Mae Nang, Bang Yai, Nonthaburi.Even though the temple’s name might be confused with Wat Lat Phrakhong Tham which also has a huge reclining Buddha image but Wat Phra Non is a small temple with "Phra Non" or a small-scaled reclining Buddha image in an ordination hall (ubosot) as well.
 
This temple is at 9, Mu 3 Bang Mai Nang sub-district. It is assumed to be built in 1845. "Wat Phra Non" was named after the villagers thought that it possessed the sacred reclining Buddha for a long time.
 
They have named it since then. In the year that Bang Yai district had faced flood disaster in the monument area and the area around the temple, the temple was damaged by this disaster.
 
It is remarkable and amazing that the water did not flow to and flood its ordinary hall even in the highest flood year of 1942. The abbot of this temple is Phra Kru Rattana Sutaphirak (Somchai Saengrat) who was ordained on 20 June 1982.
 
Wat Phra Non is included in the list of the Chao Phraya River cruising attraction and the nine sacred temple visit around Ko Kret in Nonthaburi province.
 
The program also includes other temples: Wat Yai Sawang Arom, Wat Bang Chak, Wat Sao Thong, Wat Phai Lom, Wat Poramai Yikawat Woraiwihan, Wat Chim Phli Sutthawat, Wat Klang Kret, Wat Choeng Len, Wat Tha It, etc.
 
If you travel by boat, it will take about three hours. Besides, there are other places that you can visit such as Wat Yai Sawang Arom riverside market in Om Kret sub-district, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province, in order to promote and support the occupational development of the community groups. The highlight is the "one tambon one product" (OTOP), including well-known local products from Nonthaburi province.
