Baan Khlong Peak Nok Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, Samut Sakhon is a community learning site in Tha Sai Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, developed around the principles of the Sufficiency Economy philosophy. It serves not only as a local training center, but also as a practical example of how a village community can build knowledge, skills, and cooperation through agriculture, resource management, and shared social development.

 

The project began when the Tha Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization approved a budget of 3 million baht to construct the 80th Birthday Anniversary Maha Mongkhon Building. The purpose was twofold: to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 80th birthday, and to support the Khlong Peak Nok community in developing a local center for sufficiency-based learning. This gave the project both symbolic importance and long-term practical value for the village.

 

The center is located on approximately 12 rai of land and includes training areas related to livestock, fisheries, crops, and land development. This makes the site much more than a meeting hall or ceremonial building. It is a hands-on learning environment where visitors can understand how the Sufficiency Economy approach is applied in everyday community life and small-scale occupations.

 

One of the center’s most important roles is as a model network site for expansion into other subdistricts and districts. Rather than working only for one village, the project was designed to become a pilot example that other communities could study and adapt. This has helped the center gain broader recognition and made it meaningful in a provincial development context as well as at the village level.

 

The importance of the area was further strengthened when Baan Khlong Peak Nok was selected as a “happy and sufficient village” by the community development authorities of Samut Sakhon. That recognition reflects the fact that activities at the center have continued in practical ways over time, including occupational training, community support programs, and public cooperation projects that benefit local residents.

 

For visitors, the center is especially interesting as a place of real community learning. It is suitable for people who are interested in local development, integrated agriculture, self-reliance, and the social application of the Sufficiency Economy philosophy. The atmosphere is closer to a working community knowledge space than to a commercial tourist destination, which gives it a distinct identity.

Getting There is most convenient by private car. From Rama II Road, turn in at the entrance near Wat Klang Angkaeo, continue for about 4 kilometers, then turn right before reaching the village headman’s office in Moo 4. Continue into the lane for about 1 kilometer, turn right again, and you will reach the learning center. The route matches the local access pattern for Baan Khlong Peak Nok and is the most practical way to visit the site.
