Khao Tham Bunnak, also known as Wat Khao Tham Bunnak, is a natural cave and Buddhist temple attraction located in Takhli Subdistrict, Takhli District, Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand. The site is about 6 kilometers from Takhli town and approximately 80 kilometers from Nakhon Sawan city. The landscape is mountainous, and the cave entrance is located about 25–30 meters above the foothill. At the base of the cave is Wat Khao Tham Bunnak, a spacious and peaceful temple area shaded by trees.

 

The appeal of Khao Tham Bunnak lies in its combination of nature, limestone cave scenery, and Buddhist devotion. Inside the cave, visitors can find Buddha images and a replica of the Buddha’s footprint. A natural opening at the top of the mountain allows sunlight to enter the cave, creating a soft and peaceful atmosphere. It is associated with Luang Pu Si Chanthasiri, a highly respected monk whose memory continues to attract Buddhist devotees to this site.

 

The temple grounds at the foothill are spacious, shady, and calm, offering a pleasant place for visitors to rest before or after exploring the cave. The overall setting is not commercialized, which helps preserve the simple and spiritual atmosphere of the site. Access to the cave is not difficult compared with deeper forest caves. The cave entrance is about 25–30 meters above the foothill, and visitors can reach it without a long trek. However, the road leading to the site includes laterite sections, so travelers should check road conditions during the rainy season.

 

Getting There is most convenient by private car. From Takhli town, drive approximately 6 kilometers toward Wat Khao Tham Bunnak. From Nakhon Sawan city, the total distance is about 80 kilometers. Some parts of the access road are laterite, so careful driving is recommended, especially after rain.
