The Miniature Thai Royal Performance Center is one of Pattaya’s most remarkable cultural attractions, located in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. It showcases the beauty and grandeur of Thailand’s royal traditions, passed down for more than 300 years. The project was initiated by Mr. Jirames Choksuriyakiat, also known as Sumet Rangsarnpirun, the founder of the famous Miniature City. The concept and construction began in 1995 and took 15 years to complete. It was created to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 84th birthday anniversary in 2011, reflecting a deep commitment to preserving and promoting Thailand’s cultural heritage for future generations.

This center serves not only as a tourist attraction but also as an educational venue for Thai people, especially the younger generation, to foster pride and appreciation for their heritage. It is also a captivating destination for international visitors who are eager to explore Thailand’s rich traditions and artistry. The Royal Barge Procession is one of the most significant and majestic royal ceremonies, symbolizing the intricate craftsmanship, unity, and cultural depth of the Thai nation throughout its history.

Inside the Miniature Thai Royal Performance Center, visitors can experience a breathtaking recreation of the Royal Barge Procession, presented with lifelike detail. The simulation takes viewers on a journey along the Chao Phraya River at dawn, as the first light of day brightens over Bangkok before the royal fleet gracefully disappears beyond the Thonburi side. The stunning scene is enhanced by shimmering stars, the vibrant city lights of Bangkok at night, and the mesmerizing sound of traditional kapae hoe ruea (royal barge songs). With advanced 4D cinema technology, the experience immerses visitors completely, making them feel as though they are witnessing this historic royal event in person.

In addition to the 4D presentation, the center features a giant 360-degree screen theater that showcases a rare animated film about the history of Thai boats, tracing their evolution from ancient times to the present day. This unique presentation is both educational and entertaining, offering valuable insights into Thailand’s maritime heritage and royal traditions.

The center also exhibits highly detailed miniature replicas of the royal barges, each with significant historical and cultural meaning. Notable examples include the Suphannahong Royal Barge, Anantanakkharat Barge, and many others, each carefully crafted to reflect the artistry and skill of traditional Thai craftsmanship. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the roles and symbolism of each barge, as well as their importance in royal ceremonies and national history.

The Miniature Thai Royal Performance Center is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission fees are 200 THB for Thai adults and 150 THB for Thai children, while foreign visitors are charged 600 THB for adults and 200 THB for children. Considering the immersive experience and knowledge provided, the price is well worth it for both Thai and international visitors.

The center is conveniently located on Sukhumvit Road, directly across from Central Pattaya. From Bangkok, travelers can take the motorway to Sukhumvit Road, pass North Pattaya Road, and just before reaching Central Pattaya, turn left into Siam Country Club Soi. About 200 meters from the entrance, turn right to access the site, which is situated behind a football field. The total travel time from Bangkok is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
