Khao Sip Ha Chan National Park, also known as Nam Pen Waterfall, is located in Khun Song Subdistrict, Chanthaburi Province. Covering an area of approximately 75,000 rai, or about 120 square kilometers, the park is made up of continuous mountain ranges stretching from north to south. On the eastern side, the area connects to Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, making this park a valuable ecosystem for both flora and fauna. The highest peak is Khao 15 Chan, which rises 802 meters above sea level and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness.

The park is home to lush forests, including dry evergreen and mixed deciduous forests, which serve as habitats for a wide variety of wildlife. Among the many natural attractions in the park are Saba Waterfall, E-kek Waterfall, Nam Pen Waterfall, and the most famous of all, Khao Sip Ha Chan Waterfall, also known as Khlong Sai Waterfall. This medium-sized waterfall features 15 distinct levels, with flowing water all year round. It is especially suitable to visit during the dry season when the trails are more accessible, allowing visitors to experience the natural beauty more comfortably.

Reaching the waterfall is an adventure in itself. Visitors must gradually ascend, sometimes following streams or climbing rocky cliffs alongside cascading waters. For those who enjoy trekking and nature exploration, the journey is both challenging and rewarding. The park provides designated camping areas at the 6th and 13th levels of the waterfall. The 13th level is the highest, featuring a dramatic drop of about 35 meters, making it a spectacular spot to rest and immerse in the serene natural surroundings.

The abundance of wildlife adds to the richness of the park. Visitors may encounter monkeys, gibbons, elephants, gaurs, and bantengs during their visit, showcasing the diversity and vitality of the ecosystem. Khao Sip Ha Chan Waterfall is situated about 35 kilometers from Kaeng Hang Maeo District and is close to the border of Sa Kaeo Province. For those who love trekking, the park offers a 4.8-kilometer nature trail from the park’s headquarters to the waterfall, allowing travelers to enjoy the forest scenery and the sound of running streams along the way.

Apart from Khao Sip Ha Chan Waterfall, Nam Pen Waterfall is another highlight within the mountain range. This medium-sized waterfall has more than 10 tiers, with water flowing all year round, making it a great alternative spot for nature lovers. The park also offers camping areas for those who bring their own tents. The first site is located near Khlong Maduea, while the second is near E-kek Waterfall, both providing peaceful surroundings ideal for an overnight stay.

Traveling to the park is convenient. Visitors can take a bus from Bangkok to Na Yai Am District in Chanthaburi Province. From there, a shared songthaew (local truck taxi) can be taken from the market to the park entrance for around 40 THB per person. Alternatively, private groups can hire a songthaew, with the fare depending on negotiation with the driver.
