Bang Lamung Seaside Resort is one of the most renowned and historically significant holiday destinations in Chonburi Province. Originally, this coastal area was used as a retreat for royals and nobles during the reign of King Rama VI. Later, it was developed under the supervision of the Royal Thai Police and eventually opened to the public. Today, it is officially known as The Cop Seminar & Resort, or “Police Resort.”

Covering more than 100 rai of land, the resort features a beach stretching around 800–900 meters. To the north it borders Bang Lamung Canal, while to the south lies Ban Rong Po fishing community. The beach is characterized by coarse sand, and at low tide some areas turn into mudflats, giving it a unique landscape distinct from nearby Pattaya Beach. Old wooden houses on stilts, painted white with wide balconies overlooking the sea, still remain. These reflect mid-20th century seaside resort architecture, emphasizing openness and natural ventilation.

A major renovation took place around 2017, with nearly 300 million baht allocated for constructing a four-storey accommodation building with 80 rooms and a seminar hall for over 300 participants. In a second phase, more than 30 villa-style houses were added. Today, the resort accommodates both police officers and the general public, offering modern facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, and conference rooms.

What makes Bang Lamung Seaside Resort special is its peaceful and private atmosphere, in contrast to the vibrant lights and entertainment of Pattaya. It is ideal for visitors seeking tranquility, cultural heritage, and a nostalgic seaside setting. The area successfully blends practical use with preservation, maintaining historic houses that reflect its prosperous past while serving the needs of modern travelers.

Getting there is convenient, as the resort is located along Sukhumvit Road, at kilometer markers 135–136 in Ban Rong Po, Bang Lamung Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. It lies about 40 kilometers from Chonburi city and only a short drive from Pattaya, making it a great choice for those wishing to enjoy a quiet beach with rich history and lasting memories.
