The waterfall has been welcoming nature lovers and hikers since December 17, 2009. The surrounding area has been carefully arranged to allow easy access while preserving the forest’s natural beauty.

There are separate dormitories for men and women, a dining hall, and couple’s cottages. The modern concrete bathrooms provide clean facilities with hot water for visitors’ convenience. Every dormitory comes equipped with pillows, mattresses, and blankets. The dining hall, designed like a traditional meeting room, is decorated with historical pictures and features Hmong embroidered textiles available for purchase.
The food at Ban Nam Chuang focuses on fresh ingredients sourced from local farms. A popular dish is blanched vegetables with chili dip, using fresh, crisp vegetables directly from local fields, served with chili and small green tomatoes. Another recommended dish for winter is herbal chicken soup, prepared with a variety of local herbs that the Hmong have relied on for generations, resulting in flavors that cannot be found elsewhere.
The area around Ban Nam Chuang has been beautifully landscaped. The slope in front of the waterfall has terraced steps planted with vetiver grass and flowering plants, with a wide space at the top for tent camping. Visitors can stay overnight safely, as the site provides 24-hour security. One of the main attractions is hiking to Three Pointed Mountain (Khao Sam Laem) with experienced forest guides who share stories about trees, rocks, wildlife, and historical events, making the trek both educational and adventurous.
The best season to visit Ban Nam Chuang–Thap Si is winter, from late October to March, when the weather is cool and breezy, with misty mornings and clear blue skies.
