Wat Khao Saraphi in Sa Kaeo Province is a temple perched on a hilltop in Aranyaprathet District. Its highlight is the panoramic view stretching all the way to Sampeou Loun District in Cambodia. Surrounded by lush greenery and filled with serenity, it offers both spiritual calm and the quiet beauty of nature.
The trail leading to the temple winds through shaded forest paths, filled with birdsong and the earthy scent of rain-soaked soil. Upon reaching the top, visitors are rewarded with sweeping views of Aranyaprathet town and the Thai–Cambodian border — a peaceful yet awe-inspiring sight.
Wat Khao Saraphi was officially established in 2003 and granted Wisungkhamsima status in 2004. The current abbot is Phra Khru Banphot Wisalkun (Phisarn), while the revered former abbot, Luang Pu Phila Ratchito, was known for his contributions to the temple’s development and for fostering faith among the local community during times of border unrest.
Aside from its spiritual significance, the temple serves as a natural learning site where visitors can explore and appreciate the area’s rich biodiversity. Morning mist often blankets the treetops, while the evening sun casts golden light across the Buddha image on the hill — moments that leave lasting impressions on every visitor.
