Uthayan Sasana Phra Phothisat Guan Yin (Kuan Yin Inter-Religious Park) is one of the largest and most distinctive faith-based attractions in western Thailand. Located in Phu Sawat Subdistrict, Kaeng Krachan District, Phetchaburi, the park spans approximately 180 rai. This expansive site has been developed as an “inter-religious park” that systematically blends Mahayana Buddhist concepts, Taoist philosophy, and Hindu–Brahman beliefs, clearly reflecting Thailand’s “diversity of faith” through its sculpture, symbolism, and visitor-friendly spatial planning.

 

At the heart of the park stands the Thousand-Eyed, Thousand-Armed Guanyin in the Mahayana tradition—a powerful symbol of a bodhisattva who sees the suffering of all beings with countless eyes and extends help in every direction with countless hands. The idea of “a thousand eyes and a thousand arms” therefore represents boundless compassion that reaches everywhere. This meaning draws many visitors who come to pay respects, make wishes, and use the park as a place to rest the mind. The surrounding sculptures and symbolic elements also help visitors experience the meaning of faith in a tangible, accessible way.

 

The park is organized into multiple zones. The main axis that visitors most clearly perceive is a zone reflecting Mahayana–Taoist symbolism and another zone designed with a “Buddhist Pure Land” ambience. These areas naturally encourage continuous walking, worship, and photography. Because the layout is open and spacious, the visit feels unhurried; visitors can follow walking routes at their own pace or use the park’s trailer shuttle service for convenience, especially on hot days or when traveling with seniors.

 

Another aspect that sets this site apart from typical devotional attractions is the presence of sacred figures and symbols from multiple belief systems within the same grounds—including Hindu–Brahman deities such as Brahma, Ganesha, and others. As a whole, the park offers a clear example of how different faith traditions coexist in the Thai context. Culturally, this is a visible expression of Cultural Syncretism, made concrete through spatial design, artistry, and symbolism that ordinary visitors can easily engage with.

 

The atmosphere is open and surrounded by nature, making morning and late afternoon ideal times to stroll comfortably. With an area of roughly 180 rai, most visits should allow at least 1–2 hours, especially if you plan to see multiple key points. Photography enthusiasts can capture wide angles to convey the scale of the sculptures and closer views to highlight artistic details and surrounding design elements.

 

Getting There You can travel via Phetkasem Road (Highway 4). When you reach Tha Yang District, turn onto the route along the irrigation canal heading toward Phetchaburi Dam; from there, follow the junction to the park for approximately 12 km. Another option is to enter from the Ban Lat junction. This destination is best suited for visitors with a private car, and on-site parking is available within the park.

 

Visitors are advised to dress respectfully, observe proper etiquette, and avoid climbing on or unnecessarily touching the sculptures. On weekends and holidays, the park may be busier; visiting in the morning generally makes walking and photography easier.
